Nova for clients β short guide (Web)
This guide shows what you can do as a client in Nova on web (novafitness.no): read about Nova, create an account, open a trainer's page, and book a session. It's intentionally short β most of the training experience happens in the mobile app (see What you do in the app instead).
Platform: Browser (PC, Mac, mobile). No prior knowledge needed. An up-to-date browser like Chrome, Safari, or Edge works best.

1. Visiting novafitness.no
Go to novafitness.no in your browser. On the landing page you can read about what Nova is:
- What Nova offers β a marketplace for trainers, training tools, and gamification.
- Features and how the platform fits together.
- Pricing β you can switch between Monthly and Yearly (the prices are for trainers; as a client, creating an account is free).
- FAQ and links at the bottom of the page.
Tip: The site is available in Norwegian, English, German, French, and Spanish. Use the language picker in the top-right corner of the page to switch β your choice is remembered for your next visit. If you haven't picked anything, the site follows your browser's language.
2. Creating an account and logging in
You can create a free client account directly on web.
- Tap Create account (or use the link your trainer gave you).
- Fill in:
- Name β what your trainer will see.
- Email β one you have access to.
- Password β at least 12 characters, with upper- and lowercase
letters, at least one number and one special character (for example,
StrongTrainer!2026). A strength meter shows how strong your password is.
- Confirm the password and accept the terms.
- Tap Create account.
When the account is created, you'll see a confirmation with "Download the Nova app" and buttons for the App Store and Google Play. That's because the actual training happens in the mobile app β see section 6.
Already have an account? Tap Log in and use your email and password. The same login works on both web and in the app.
3. Opening a trainer's page
Trainers on Nova have their own public page β a storefront. The trainer shares a link with you, for example novafitness.no/the-trainers-name.
- Open the link your trainer gave you (or the trainer's own domain).
- You'll see the trainer's name, photo, bio, specialties, certifications, and any testimonials from other clients.
- If you'd like to reach out without booking right away, fill in the contact form (name, email, optional phone number, and a message). The trainer is notified and gets back to you.
Tip: You don't need to be logged in to view a trainer's page or send a contact message. You only need to log in when you want to book a session.
Don't have a link? In the public trainer directory at novafitness.no/trenere you can browse trainers by municipality and search by name and specialty. Every trainer has a public profile page you can open without logging in.
4. Viewing services and using "Show more"
On the trainer's page you'll find an overview of the services the trainer offers β for example, 1:1 sessions, a free consultation, or group offerings. Each card shows a title, short description, and price.
- Tap a service card to open the service page with full information.
- There you'll see what's included, prices/packages, photos, and FAQ.
- If the description is long, only the start is shown. Tap Show more to read the full text (and Show less to hide it again).
5. Booking a session
If the trainer offers 1:1 sessions or a free consultation, you can book directly from the service page.
- Scroll to the booking section on the service page.
- If you're not logged in, you'll be prompted to log in or create a free account first. After signing in, you'll come back to the same page.
- Pick a day in the day selector, then a time from the open slots. Times are shown in Norwegian time (Europe/Oslo).
- Free consultation: you can confirm directly (one free per client with each trainer). Paid 1:1 session: choose which package / clip card you want to use a clip from. If you don't have an active package, you can buy one on the same page.
- Tap Confirm booking.
When the booking is confirmed, you'll see a green "Confirmed!" message and you'll get a confirmation email with a calendar attachment. The trainer is notified too. You can tap See my bookings to view your sessions.
Tip: Double-check that the time matches your own time zone before confirming. If a slot turns "taken" just as you confirm, that means someone else booked it first β pick another open slot.
If there are no open slots
- "No available times right now" β the trainer has no open slots at the moment. Check back later, or send a message via the contact form.
- "The trainer hasn't opened booking yet" β get in touch with the trainer directly to arrange a time.
6. What you do in the app instead
Web is meant for finding a trainer, creating an account, and booking. The day-to-day training happens in the mobile app (Android and iPhone). Download it by searching for Nova Fitness in Google Play or the App Store, and sign in with the same email and password you used on web.
In the app you get:
- The workout player β do and log your sessions.
- Gamification β avatar, level, XP, streaks, and gear.
- Nutrition / food diary β including barcode scanning of food products.
- Health integration β Health Connect (Android) / Apple Health (iPhone).
- Chat with your trainer, and push notifications.
In short: Use web to get started and to book sessions. Use the app to train. They share the same account.
7. Troubleshooting
I can't create an account. Check that the password is at least 12 characters with upper- and lowercase letters, a number, and a special character, and that both password fields match. If the email is already in use, choose Log in instead.
The trainer's link gives "Not found". Make sure you've typed the whole link correctly. The trainer may have changed the link or not published the page yet β ask for an updated link.
I can't book a session. You need to be logged in to book. For paid sessions, you need an active package / clip card. If there are no open slots, the trainer hasn't opened booking yet β get in touch directly.
I can't find training, avatar, or food diary on web. That's correct β those are only in the mobile app. See section 6.
The page is in the wrong language. Use the language picker in the top-right corner of the page. Your choice is remembered and overrides the browser language β the browser's language is only used until you've picked something in the picker.
Need more help?
Send your trainer a message via the contact form on their page, or contact Nova support via the support page. It helps to have ready: what you did, what happened, which browser you were using, and the link/page involved.
